U.S. Senator Katie Britt Directly Secures Over $28 Million for the Alabama Wiregrass Through Appropriations Leadership

WASHINGTOND.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, recently directly secured over $28 million for the Wiregrass through the Senate passage of three Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations billsthe FY26 Labor, Health, and Human Services (LHHS) Appropriations Act, FY26 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Appropriations Act, and the FY26 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Act.

The bills, part of a larger package, will be sent back to the U.S. House of Representatives for a final vote before heading to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. Following the signing of this package into law, Senator Britt will have directly secured more than $66.5 million to the Wiregrass in FY26 appropriations funding.

“I am proud to have directly secured over $28 million for the Wiregrass through three key appropriations bills,” said Senator Britt. “This funding will procure crucial medical equipment, improve transportation infrastructure, and bolster our public safety. I’m eager to see the impact this strategic investment will have across the Wiregrass region.”

A detailed breakdown of the Wiregrass priorities secured by Senator Britt can be found below:

  • $3,000,000 for the City of Enterprise to procure and install a surgical robot 
  • $500,000 for the Health Care Authority of the City of Eufaula to procure surgical and lab equipment
  • $15,680,000 to ALDOT for Boll Weevil Circle and SR-167 Project in Coffee County
  • $2,355,000 to the City of Enterprise to fund the needed infrastructure improvements on airport property
  • $1,500,000 to the City of Abbeville for public safety firefighting equipment
  • $5,000,000 to the Dothan Courthouse for critical repairs and restoration
