ICYMI: U.S. Senator Katie Britt Joins Newsmax
‘This is what a leader looks like. This is a commander in chief. This is the type of president that the United States of America deserves‘
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) joined Finnerty on Newsmax to discuss President Trump’s historic ceasefire announcement between Iran and Israel and his commitment to restoring peace through strength.

Excerpts from Senator Britt’s interview are below. The full interview can be viewed here.
On President Trump’s historic ceasefire announcement:
“We finally have a president that has said enough is enough. He said, ‘I want peace.’ And what the world found out is when Donald Trump wants something and he says it, he means it and he will achieve it. This is yet again promises made, promises kept …
“President Trump said, ‘do not touch one single American, not one of our troops,’ and I believe that Iran knows that he is serious. And so when you look at that, bringing them to the table, looking at what’s happened, this isn’t just the generations that we’ve just talked about, I mean, this is thousands of years … look at the tension here in the Middle East.
“For President Trump to accomplish what he did in his first term with the Abraham Accords, then you look at what he’s been able to do already in other parts of the world … with the Congo and Rwanda … what he did with Pakistan and India. He knows how to bring people together. He knows how to create a deal, and he has done what no one else thought was possible … I hope that Iran heeds this, and I hope that obviously Israel does too. We know that Israel cannot live like this anymore. They cannot raise their children in bunkers.
“It is time for peace. You mentioned it earlier. Obviously, Americans are over war, the world is over it. We want peace. We want stability, and we want prosperity. That’s what President Trump is offering to this region. I think we can build upon the success of his first term with the Abraham Accords …”
On President Trump’s commitment to restoring peace through strength:
“The truth is Joe Biden’s failure and weakness led to a loss of American lives, whether it is fentanyl overdoses from coast to coast, from that wide open border, whether it is terrorists, known terrorists, coming across our border. We heard Democrats talking about that over the weekend … [Republicans] have been talking about this for years.
“You look at the weakness that [Joe Biden] exhibited abroad with [his] disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, Rob, that allowed for these types of things to fester. And then his inability to actually enforce the sanctions [that] are on the books for Iran. And then Iran having a multitude of money there that they were able to utilize to actually fund terrorism in every corner there in the Middle East …
“Joe Biden put us in an untenable position. He put American lives at stake, and American lives were lost as a result of his failed leadership. And what we’ve seen in just a six month amount of time is President Trump come in and actually show strength. This is what a leader looks like. This is a commander in chief. This is the type of president that the United States of America deserves. And it is an honor to be able to be here and watch it and … watch this continued success.”
