ICYMI: U.S. Senator Katie Britt Joins Hannity on Fox
‘[W]hat these families need are our prayers, our compassion, our love and support’
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) joined Hannity on Fox News guest-hosted by Kellyanne Conway to discuss the devastating floods in Texas and her efforts to secure historic child care relief in President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

Excerpts from Senator Britt’s interview are below. The full interview can be viewed here.
On the recent flash flooding in Texas:
“We look at Alabama and we know we lost a little eight-year-old, beautiful Sarah Marsh from Mountain Brook, Alabama. And then we have a family missing from Mobile, Alabama. These stories are not unique. They’re popping up all across the country. And I think what these families need are our prayers, our compassion, our love and support …”
“[W]e’re both moms. Did you not, as you watched this this weekend, think about your own children? I pulled up pictures of my kids from Camp, Kellyanne, from back when they were there at that age. And you think about the innocent angels that are no longer with us, and, you thank God for His Grace. But you also know that every normal parent, every normal person across this country is thinking about those parents, is thinking about those lost loved ones and lifting them up in prayer.”
On Democrats politicizing the tragedy in Texas:
“[T]he fact that Democrats want to find some way to make this about Donald Trump, to take this moment and make it political, it’s got to stop. This nation has to heal and behavior like this and antics like this have no place in America. And I hope that every one of them that have said these awful, deranged things, look in the mirror and realize that’s not who we are as Americans…
“[My]y daughter is at camp right now, and I know that there are parents out there that are counting down the days until they pick up their child, and there are also parents that are clinging to the fact that they have another day with their child. We’ve got to be human beings, Kellyanne, not everything has to be political. There will be time for us to figure out how we can do better and do more and prevent these tragedies in the future, and what they don’t realize is, their toxicity is not normal. And it is not something that we should tolerate.”
On securing historic child care provisions in the Big Beautiful Bill:
“[T]his is the very first time that we have actually reformed the tax code when it comes to child care since 1986 when it comes to one provision, and 2001 when it comes to another. We know that costs have gone up through the roof and we know that child care, the affordability and accessibility, is an impediment to so many parents reentering the workforce …
“[I]f you want and have the opportunity to stay home, I absolutely want that for you. But if you want or need to reengage in the workforce and that affordability or accessibility is an impediment, I think we have a duty to those people who want to help us build back America to help remove that. And that’s exactly what we were able to do. This was monumental. This was Republicans leading the charge. We, on November 5th, proved that we are the party of parents, and we’re the party of hard-working Americans. I can think of no better way to deliver and actually deliver on this child care and make that more affordable for Americans coast to coast.”
