U.S. Senator Katie Britt Issues Statement on Senate Health Care Votes, Democrats Continuing to Put Politics Over Patients
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today issued a statement following her votes in support of the Republican-led health care plan that puts patients first and in opposition to Democrats’ unserious plan to continue allowing millionaires to take advantage of the program and their broken health care system to continue:
“What we saw today from Democrats’ health care vote was pure political theater,” said Senator Britt. “Their plan props up a broken, UNAFFORDABLE system that’s wrought with fraud and failing the Alabamians who truly need it, all while extending COVID-era subsidies with no income caps.
“Republicans put forward a plan that would return power to patients and lower the cost of health care. Democrats’ plan makes clear they care more about using the American people as pawns heading into the midterms than fixing the health care crisis THEY created. It’s an unfortunate state of affairs, and Americans deserve far better.
“I will continue to support health care plans that make necessary reforms to the Obamacare marketplace so it’s affordable and will benefit those in need.”
