U.S. Senator Katie Britt Directly Secures $2 Million for Cleburne and Choctaw Counties Through Appropriations Leadership

WASHINGTOND.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), as a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, recently directly secured $2 million for Cleburne and Choctaw Counties through the Senate passage of the FY26 Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Act.

The bill, part of a larger package, will be sent back to the U.S. House of Representatives for a final vote before heading to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.

“I am proud to have directly secured $2 million for Cleburne and Choctaw Counties in this appropriations bill,” said Senator Britt. “This funding will provide crucial infrastructure updates for both counties, creating safer and more secure communities.”

A detailed breakdown of the priorities secured by Senator Britt can be found below:

  • $1,000,000 for ALDOT to replace the bridge over Muscadine Creek in Cleburne County
  • $1,000,000 for ALDOT for road improvements to CR 9 in Choctaw County
