U.S. Senator Katie Britt Joins Colleagues in Commending Operation Midnight Hammer, Calls for President Trump to Win Nobel Peace Prize

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) joined Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) and a number of her Senate Republican colleagues in introducing a Senate resolution in support of the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, including Operation Midnight Hammer, and praising President Trump’s efforts to reestablish deterrence and achieve lasting peace in the region.

“I’m proud to join my colleagues in applauding our brave military personnel who were instrumental in planning and executing this strong and surgical mission. Protecting America and our allies from the existential threat of a nuclear-armed Iran is paramount, and I remain committed to ensuring Iran’s nuclear program ceases to exist,” said Senator Britt.

“Our resolution also recognizes President Trump as deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. Not only did he bring historic peace to the region during his first term with the Abraham Accords, but he has now brought an end to the 12-day-war between Israel and Iran after Operation Midnight Hammer’s historic success. He is truly the President of Peace,” Senator Britt continued.

Senator Britt recently praised the operation saying, “The story of America’s successful mission striking Iran’s nuclear facilities will be told for generations. The U.S. military is the strongest, most skilled, and capable in the world. God bless our troops.”

This resolution reiterates support to the United States’ decisive military strikes under Operation Midnight Hammer, obliterating Iran’s nuclear program, and affirming that the Iranian regime must never have the ability to enrich uranium or have any nuclear capabilities. The resolution also recognizes that our nation and world are far safer because of the brave actions of United States servicemembers who participated in the operation and President Trump’s courageous, America-first leadership. 

The resolution concurs that President Trump’s efforts have been crucial in achieving lasting peace in the Middle East and are worthy of consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize.
