U.S. Senator Katie Britt Calls for David Barnes to be Returned to United States

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today released a statement following reporting the United States and Russia are in potential talks to conduct another prisoner swap. At least eight Americans are currently held in Russian prisons, including David Barnes, whose family resides in Alabama.

“I am happy to see reporting that the Trump Administration is continuing to work to bring Americans imprisoned in Russia home to the United States. It is past time that David Barnes is returned to America. I applaud President Trump and Secretary Rubio for their tireless work.”
