ICYMI: U.S. Senator Katie Britt Joins American Agenda on Newsmax
‘Democrats don’t know how to work and have a conversation at the same time’
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) joined American Agenda on Newsmax, ushering in yet another week of the Democrat-led government shutdown.

Excerpts from Senator Britt’s interview are below. The full interview can be viewed here.
On Democrats’ decision to shut down the government:
“Democrats need to do the right thing and reopen the government … Who is paying the price? It is the American people … The people that Democrats have said they care the most about are going to pay the price, because Democrats don’t know how to work and have a conversation at the same time.”
On Chuck Schumer pandering to the far-left wing of his party:
“We need to be opening the government. We need to be working for the American people. These people need to be getting paid for the job they’re done … Some workers [who] are living paycheck to paycheck. And we see Chuck Schumer putting the politics of his reelect and trying to figure out if he can make it … [to] the No Kings protest here in Washington, D.C., so that he can stand on the stage with those individuals and rally the left wing of his party and hopefully keep his job. He’s putting that above the American people. And, look, they’re going to see through it.”
On Democrats continuing to put politics over the American people:
“[Republicans are] not going to let hardworking Americans pay the price for Democrats’ political stunt … we could have the government open today if Senate Democrats would do the right thing. So we’re continuing to have conversations explaining to them the detrimental impact of what they’re doing. But they at the end of the day, [Democrats are] putting politics first.”
