U.S. Senators Katie Britt, Bill Cassidy, Colleagues Recognize National School Choice Week
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-La.), and several of their Republican colleagues introduced a resolution recognizing January 25-31 as National School Choice Week.
“Every student is unique, and every family should be empowered to make the best possible choice for their child’s education,” said Senator Britt. “I am proud to celebrate National School Choice Week and champion the educational freedom that helps our nation’s children achieve the American Dream.”
“Children should have every opportunity to succeed in school, regardless of income or zip code,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This National School Choice Week, we celebrate giving parents the power to choose the best education option for their child.”
Senators Britt and Cassidy were joined by 27 of their Senate Republican colleagues in advocating for the resolution. You can read the full text of the resolution here.
Senator Britt is a strong proponent of school choice. In the 119th Congress, she helped introduce the Educational Choice for Children Act, bicameral legislation that would prioritize school choice programs by directing federal funds to support educational freedom for families. Additionally, Senator Britt continues to call for expanding K-12 educational freedom for children across the nation.
